This 2-weekend intensive introduces you to the work of Kristin Linklater and her method of “Freeing the Natural Voice”(© Kristin Linklater). A specific series of physical, tactile and imaginative exercises reconnect your voice to impulse, emotion and thought. Discover the excitement and power of a natural, embodied voice that is alive with resonance and vibration, and free of inhibiting tension and blocks. Take the work practically into text and you will discover deeper levels of vocal connection to character thought and feeling.

LOCATION: Sirius Studio, 119 Mimico Ave, Etobicoke There is an on site parking lot, free parking on side streets and easy access via bus or streetcar on the TTC.
INSTRUCTOR: Heather Dick, Artistic Director is a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher, a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association), an actress and a director (CAEA, ACTRA). Most recently, she coached and taught voice workshops for The Lear Project and Shakespeare By The Sea Festival in St. John’s, Nfld. She has led both voice and acting workshops for more than 25 years. Teaching credits include Ryerson Polytechnic University, Brock University Dramatic Arts Dept., Theatre Ontario Summer Programs, many community theatres and the Sirius Theatrical Company. From 2012 to 2014 she was a Teacher Trainee in Voice (Linklater Method) & Text at the world renowned Shakespeare & Company (Lenox, Mass.). For more information go to our 'Instructors' page.
